Long Arm Square Inch Price

Premium Batting
I believe your quilts deserve the best. That’s why I exclusively stock Quilters Dream batting. Whether I'm finishing a custom T-shirt quilt or a traditional heirloom, the right batting makes all the difference.

-
In-Stock Favorites: 80/20 Blend, 100% Cotton, and 100% Polyester.
-
Specialty Requests: Wool and Bamboo are available in limited quantities for that extra touch of luxury.

Transparent Pricing: Batting is not included in the square-inch quilting fee. I charge by the linear inch based on the smallest side of your quilt (plus a 5" margin for loading). This "pay-for-what-you-use" model keeps costs fair and minimizes waste.
Thread
I stock a wide variety of Glide thread to ensure a durable and vibrant finish for every project. To keep my pricing simple, thread is included in your square-inch rate. Please note that for high-density quilting, an additional $2.50 per bobbin is charged to cover the extra material used.

While I typically choose colors that blend with the lighter sections of your quilt top, I welcome your input! If you have a specific vision for the thread color, just let me know.
Trimming & Binding
Once your quilting is complete, I will remove the excess batting and backing. Any significant fabric or batting scraps will be returned to you. I offer two levels of trimming:
-
Rough Trim ($5): I will trim the excess within 1/4" of the quilt top on all four sides.
-
Exact Trim & Squaring ($10): I will professionally square up your quilt, leaving it perfectly straight and ready for you (or me!) to apply the binding.

Would you like to receive your quilt back completely finished and ready to use? I offer several machine-stitched binding options to suit your needs.

-
Option 1: Client Prepped ($20) You send the binding already folded, pressed, and ready to go. I will machine-stitch it to both the front and back of the quilt.
-
Option 2: Half-Finish ($25) You provide the fabric. I will cut it (2.5" standard), prep it, and machine-stitch it to the front of the quilt. You finish the back by hand at home.
-
Option 3: Full Machine Finish ($35) You provide the fabric. I will cut it (2.5" standard), prep it, and machine-stitch it to both the front and back for a clean, durable finish.
-
Option 4: Custom Selection (Price varies) Not sure which fabric to pick? I can color-match and select the perfect fabric for your binding. Pricing is determined at the time of selection based on material costs and your preferred finishing method.
Shannon Minky - Back Fabric
For the ultimate soft finish, I carry the entire Shannon Minky Fabric line in both standard and extra-wide widths.
-
Seamless Finish: One of the best perks of using extra-wide Minky is the ability to avoid extra seams on the back of your quilt (depending on the quilt size).
-
Variety & Selection: I have access to a massive range of colors and prints. Please contact me directly to discuss current availability and find the perfect match for your project.
-
Custom Pricing: Costs are based on the specific style, size, and total yardage required for your quilt.
-
Loading Requirements: As a reminder, I require an extra 4" of material around the entire perimeter of the quilt to properly attach it to the longarm.
Shipping
Shipping Your Project
I am located in Minnesota and am happy to receive your quilt tops, backings, and binding by mail. To ensure your project arrives safely, please follow these guidelines:
-
Protective Packaging: I recommend placing all materials inside a sealed plastic bag or sack before putting them into a sturdy, hard-sided cardboard box. This protects your fabric from moisture or debris during transit.
-
Secure & Label: Ensure your box is securely taped and clearly labeled.
-
Tracking: Please email me your tracking number once the package is sent so I can keep an eye out for its arrival.
-
Confirmation: Once your order arrives, I will send you a confirmation email or text to let you know your items are safely in my hands.

Return Shipping
When your project is complete, I will return it using the same care and professional packaging described above.
-
Carrier: I ship via UPS but will ship using other options upon request.
-
Tracking & Insurance: Priority Mail includes a tracking number and $50 of automatic insurance.
-
Additional Insurance: I highly recommend insuring your valuables against loss or damage while in transit. If you would like me to purchase additional insurance on your behalf, please indicate this on your intake form.
Sales Tax & Fees
-
Minnesota Sales Tax: I am required by the State of Minnesota to collect a 8.53% sales tax on the quilting service portion of your invoice.
-
Applicability: This tax applies to all orders that are picked up in person or shipped to a Minnesota address.
-
Transparency: I aim to keep my billing as clear as possible; your invoice will clearly show the breakdown of the quilting service and the associated tax.
Payment
Once your project is complete, I will send you an invoice for the final balance. I am happy to offer several convenient ways to pay, including PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle. For those who prefer to pay by credit card, I also accept all major cards via Square; please note that a 3% transaction fee will be added to the total to cover processing costs for Square and PayPal.

I truly appreciate timely payments, as they enable me to mail your finished quilt or Memory Item back to you right away. Your project will be safely packaged and shipped as soon as the invoice is settled.
I would love to help you create something special!
